Much of this well-way marked walk is through attractive woodland, and from higher points there are many fine and extensive views over the rolling, well-wooded countryside that lies to the east of the Pennines. A gradual and easy climb through Deffer wood is followed by a walk along a ridge, and then comes an equally easy descent through Margery wood to reach the village of Cawthorne. The final stretch is through the beautiful, colourful and well maintained grounds of the country park. The start will be taken at a leisurely pace so as to make sure that ALL those who wish to complete the hike will do so. PLEASE take note of "ANDYS AMBLING ADVICE" and ensure that warm and waterproof clothing is/are taken in case of any change in the weather.
