THE SEASIDE, BOGGLE HOLE WEEKEND - TIMETABLE

THE FUN STARTS HERE

Friday 18th May 2007.

Meet at the Boggle Hole Youth Hostel from 5pm to 7.30pm.

WILL ALL PLEASE BOOK IN AT RECEPTION UPON ARRIVAL!

When entering the Hostel book in at Reception. You are ALL booked in under the name of BRADLEY (“LEADER”) or Hubberton Hikers. Your rooms will hopefully have been allocated, as the staff will tell you.

You will be asked if you would like to book a Breakfast or any evening meal, I suggest you book and pay (about £3.50) for a breakfast for the Saturday and Sunday.

You may order sandwiches of a varied choice to be ready for collection after breakfast for a packed lunch. You may also make your own but if you do I suggest that sandwiches are prepared the night before to allow more time in the morning.

EVENING MEALS

The Friday evening meal has not been booked at this point in time but it is anticipated that we will all dine in a pub in the village of Robin Hoods Bay after a short hop across the Cliff Tops, at about 8PM. The Saturday evening meal will be consumed in the village dependant upon agreement between ourselves.

Saturday 19th May 2007.

Leave the Hostel at 8.45AM and proceed down to the beach (tide permitting) and then in a Southerly direction keeping the cliff to your right. The walk continues by climbing up onto the cliff following the coastal path where it is anticipated that some great views will undoubtedly unfold before our eyes!

ALL who are attempting to start the walk MUST make sure they have the correct clothing, footwear and food reserves. It is imperative that we all stick together and don’t go walking off without telling your LEADER, (Leslie Wakeford!). If you do go off to the pub instead (Brian), you may find that the RNLI has gone out looking for you and you could end up with an expensive bill to pay!

Mobile contact will be hard to come across so don’t rely on this. If your feeling unwell stick with me throughout the walk so if anybody feels as though they need some assistance I can get it. If anybody is suffering from vertigo or such like they can report to me and a decision will be made as to where to re-direct the walk etc

When everybody is accounted for on completion of the walk, a massage service is available at £50 per session with the NOW experienced Aroma therapist/Leader’s Head Massage’ist Junette Powell (Yes Junette even you are allowed your name in “LIGHTS” – Stick with me Kid), but only AFTER your “LEADER” has tested the service FIRST!

SATURDAY EVENING

Entertainment will be provided “FREE of CHARGE” by the UNFORGETABLE “Bradley Experience” with his “sexy Quavers”(You can fight over this one)! He has just returned from a concert tour of London staring as “Joseph” with his amazing Technicolor Dream coat! Where he went down in “Spectacular Style” (He was shot at)!

If anyone has a Musical instrument and is willing to join in the “FUN with a capital F”, please feel free to join us.

Sunday 20th May 2005.

Breakfast in Youth Hostel at 8.00 approx.

A short walk of 17 miles is planned (only joking, about 5-7 miles really-HONEST) as a warm down. This walk will includeclimbing Whitby abbey steps dependant on the time we have. . We will probably go back to the Hostel for a cuppa and a GINGER SCONE before heading off home.

This event is a part of our walking season and promises to be an excellent weekend. The committee of the Hubberton Hikers would like to extend a cordial welcome to ALL our friends and visitors who are joining us for the first time this weekend. If you are interested in joining us on any future hikes, please log onto our “NEWLY UPDATED” website at the following web address. www.hubbertonhikers.co.uk

DIRECTIONS

Take the A 64 towards Scarborough. Just after Malton (Old Malton), pick up the A169 to Pickering. At Pickering take a right turn onto the A170 continuing towards Scarborough. Just before Scarborough take the A171 (Left Turn) towards Whitby. Keep your eyes open along this road as after 10/12 miles you should pick up the sign for a right turn for Boggle Hole (YHA). If you go as far as Robin Hoods Bay you have gone too far. After 2.5 miles down this road there is a car park on your right. The road to the Hostel is unsuitable for vehicles. Park in the National car park and walk. Please note: take as little as possible as you will have to carry belongings to your car! Alternatively you may go on the M62/A1M, A170 and then the A171. The latter is quicker but not as scenic and you may get caught in traffic, so dependant on what time you set off - THE CHOICE IS YOURS!
