A number of walks have been tried and tested by myself (and one
of the 2 YORKSHIRE converts from Coventry).
The object of the exercise was to listen to
"our valued members" and to plan a number of walks in the area.
The walk on the Saturday is approximately 10 miles and includes the
climb of Wernside/Ingleborough, it’s up to you. We start off the walk
heading along and up towards Ingleborough following the road. Upon
reaching the Top of the road, we will decide on which Yorkshire "mountain"
to climb. Views are anticipated from the summit of either peak, not only
of Hubberton but the rest of England too! The descent will be via a
different way not as yet planned as a choice of routes will be put to the
crew, (we do try to vary it a little!).
If anybody wishes further information, please ask and I will endeavour
to find a solution to ANY predicament.
The Hubberton Hikers are On the Move "AGAIN" (there’s no keeping
us stationary) to Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales on the
weekend of 14th/16th May 2010.
For those interested in taking the Friday off and adding further
excitement to an already packed weekend, please speak to Leader as a
walk of some kind is anticipated on route to the hostel.
We aim to meet at Ingleton Youth Hostel on Friday 14th May from 6.30pm
onwards.
The intention is for us all to stay in the Youth Hostel on the Friday
and Saturday nights although I know one or two could be staying at
Caravan sites/Pubs /Hotels locally. I have booked the Youth Hostel for
8 female and 8 males. The cost of the accommodation will be in the
region of £16.00 - per person per night, breakfast is inclusive.
Evening meals can be bought at the local pub in the village of
Ingleton. If members wish, they can bring along there own food and
cater for themselves, as there is a large self-catering kitchen on
site.
As there is an URGENCY to book and pay for the accommodation as soon as is possible: The first 8 of each sex to book will guaranteed a place, a deposit is therefore required. The deposit I am asking for is £32 per person (for 2 nights) and is NON – REFUNDABLE. Please could you ensure this is paid by Friday 16th of April 2010?
