THE HUBBERTON HIKERS CHRISTMAS PARTY WILL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAY 13TH JANUARY 2005 AT THE CRAGRATS RESTAURANT HOLMFIRTH. THE PRICE FOR THE MEAL WILL BE AROUND £30.00 PER HEAD AND DRINKS WILL BE EXTRA.
THE COST OF THE MEAL INCLUDES LIVE ENTERTAINMENT. THIS YEARS ENTERTAINMENT WILL BE DECIDED UPON NEARER THE TIME (IF YOU'RE LUCKY IT COULD BE THE SQUIRE)!! IT IS HOPED TRANSPORT WILL BE PROVIDED BY SOME PEOPLE DRIVING ON THE NIGHT (PLEASE INFORM THE SQUIRE IF YOU ARE WILLING TO DRIVE) OR A COACH/TAXIS CAN BE BOOKED AT EXTRA COST.

IT WOULD BE GRATEFULLY APPRECIATED IF MEMBERS COULD FILL IN THEIR REPLY FORM ATTACHED TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS LETTER AND RETURN WITH A £5 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT PER PERSON. THE REMAINDER OF THE COST TO BE PAID ON THE NIGHT BY CREDIT CARD CHEQUE OR CASH TO THE RESTAURANT.
I DO APOLOGISE FOR A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT BEING TAKEN BUT AFTER PROBLEMS ARISING FROM A FEW YEARS AGO I FIND NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE BUT TO COVER MY OWN COSTS. I DO HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND.

Homemade chicken liver & ham hock parfait,
Stilton & pear mousse, Melba toasts

Seared breast of wood pigeon, braised red cabbage flamande,
Port & star anise jus

Tian of fresh crab & smoked salmon with avocado & apple citrus mayonnaise

Braised oxtail, caramelised onion mash, root vegetable dumplings,
Braising liquor

Ravioli of wild mushrooms, rocket & fourme d'ambert,
Roasted red pepper & mustard sauce


MAIN COURSE
Roast fillet of beef wrapped in Parma ham, griddled potato cake,
Beetroot fondant, balsamic & thyme jus

Chestnut & herb crusted supreme of corn fed guinea fowl,
Smoked pancetta risotto, lemon & black pepper gravy

Roast turkey with sage & onion stuffing, chipolata sausage, turkey gravy

Honey & thyme glazed breast of barbury duck, chorizo & squash hash,
Buttered spinach, Satsuma & red wine jus

Seared fillet of sea bass, mulled wine shallots, potato comfit, chive beurre blanc

Individual grilled crotin de chenre, baba ganoush, sun dried tomato polenta cake,
Parsley puree


SWEETS
Traditional Christmas pudding, brandy butter, rum sauce

Bramley apple & cinnamon crumble

Warm chocolate & ginger brownie, raspberry sauce, vanilla ice cream

Vanilla poached pears, chocolate ice cream, and hazelnut shortbread
