Obituary: Sally (Hubberton Hiker Mascot)

May 1993 - August 2008. R.I.P.

It is with a great deal of sadness that we report the death of Johnny & Janice's dog Sally.

Sally has been a regular and enthusiastic walker with the Hubberton Hikers. Very well behaved always, she has been welcomed and loved by all. She has been a regular member of the hikers lunch sessions, and could always be relied upon to clean up! Sally will be very much missed by all of the hikers. She has had an excellent life; her death resulted from old age. Our thoughts are with Johnny and Janice at this very sad time.

A STORY ABOUT SALLY
Jonathan once bought half a pound of Top Yorkshire Ham from the supermarket for his sandwiches. Unfortunately the Ham wasn’t sealed very well so when the shopping and Sally were duly packed in to the boot of the car all seemed the norm. On the way home Johnny was in a rush as usual and sped around a corner, unbeknown to him the ham slipped out of the shopping bag, out of it’s packaging and straight in to Sally’s lap. Well what does one do? The temptation was too much so Sally duly ate the Ham thus leaving Johnny mystified when he unpacked the shopping as to where the Ham had gone! It took Johnny all of a week to deduce the answer to this one. Good job he works for the council and not the police!!!!
